Presbyterian Women Purpose Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to:
- nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- support the mission of the church worldwide,
- work for justice and peace,
- and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.
Women's groups in the Presbyterian Church have a powerful history. Since the early1800's, Presbyterian Women (PW) have organized themselves to support mission and combat social injustices nationally and internationally.
While the levels of involvement and recognition from the denominations has varied, women's dedication to living out God's call through women's organizations has remained steady.
With a history of more than 200 years, PW is committed to nurturing faith, supporting the church's mission, working for justice and building community. More than 300,000 women live out these commitments through Presbyterian Women in exciting, growth-inspiring ways.
At the PCOF, PW organize potluck and charity dinners, participate in overseas mission work in a variety of ways, support local charities and hold fundraisers, and provide food and clothing for shelters in the region. We meet for Bible study on the 2nd Tuesday each month at 1:00p.m. in the fellowship hall. We will not meet in July and August.
Consider joining Presbyterian Women and make a difference in someone's life!
